Pre-Pouring the Opposing Bases
Now that you have a
supply of stand-alone bases on hand, it is an easy job to grind the
bottom surface of any opposing model and glue it to the base.
Models ground flat on bottom.
Models positioned on bases ready for gluing.
Most of the stone used to pour the stand-alone bases
would be thrown away. This is just another way to save money on your
stone bill.
You
can also use left over die stone to pour the stand-alone bases. If you
don't have enough to fill a mold, you can always mix in a little base
stone.
